Summary:
The March 2011 issue of the Spectru monthly bulletin includes news items about ANACOM’s launch of the Consumer Portal, this Authority’s report on the quality of mobile communication networks and services, and the campaign by PT Comunicações to raise awareness about digital terrestrial television.
Other highlights are the consultations on modifying the frequency usage right allocated to Onitelecom to operate the fixed wireless access system and on revoking the act that allocated the frequency usage right associated to terrestrial digital audio broadcasting (T-DAB) to RTP. The fourth quarter 2010 statistics on electronic communication services and postal services are also disclosed.

Electronic Communications Services: Service normally provided for remuneration which consists wholly or mainly in the conveyance of signals on electronic communications networks, including telecommunications services and transmission services in networks used for broadcasting, without prejudice to the exclusion referred to in point b) of paragraph 1 of article 2 (Law no. 5/2004 of 10 February).
Postal Service: Service consisting of the clearance, sorting, routing and delivery of postal items.
TDAB - Terrestrial Digital Audio Broadcasting: Standard of terrestrial digital radio developed to substitute the current analogue radio.
