ANACOM has produced a leaflet with information on the financial assistance available for the purchase of equipment necessary to adapt television sets so that they are able to receive digital terrestrial television (set-top box or DTH Kit).
Designed especially for recipients of Rendimento Social de Inserção (Income Support), pensioners with a monthly income below 500 euros and people with disabilities (equal to or exceeding 60 percent), the leaflet explains the procedures for obtaining a reimbursement on the purchase of DTH kits and explains the programme of subsidies available for set-top boxes and DTH kits.
The leaflet has been distributed with the help of Social Security, and was sent to the Social Security District Centres and Centro Nacional de Pensões (National Pensions Centre).
With the same aim of spreading information about DTT, and with the help of CTT – Correios de Portugal, ANACOM has distributed its Guia TDT (DTT Guide) throughout 54 municipalities, selected according to socio-demographic indicators, DTT coverage, coverage of the old analogue signal and indicators on subscription television (such as the penetration rate and market share by technology). The DTT Guide was also distributed through CIAC - Centros de Informação Autárquicos ao Consumidor (Municipal Consumer Information Centres).
