By determination of 30 April 2012, ANACOM has approved the final decision amending the Especificação da Portabilidade (Portability Specification). The main amendments are related to the adjustment of timings to the new deadlines in force for portability requests, the requirement to give consideration only to the first portability window and amendment of the obligation, in the case of mobile numbers, to send the SIM card number and, as a consequence, the need, or otherwise, to validate this information. The present amendments, as well as the Regulamento da Portabilidade (amended), enter into force on 13 September 2012.

It was likewise decided to waive conduct of the prior hearing of interested parties, under point a) of paragraph 2 of article 103 of the Código do Procedimento Administrativo (Administrative Proceeding Code).
