Upon determination of 11 January 2001, and eliminating any doubts regarding certain obligations of Portugal Telecom, S.A. as the universal service provider, arising from Article 6 of Decree-Law no. 458/99, it was decided to advise PT to alter the formulated proposals, namely in relation:

- to the manner in which clients are presented in the telephone directories (firstly - in alphabetical order of the clients; secondly - in increasing order of the numbers, irrespective of the provider offering the service), and

- to the data collection files (so that it will only be obligatory to fill in information strictly necessary for service provision, i.e.: name of client, client's address - only for mobile access, telephone numbers, type of use - telephone/fax, installation address - only for fixed access, name to feature in the directory, address for distribution of the directory, date on which data was changed, identification of the provider).
