ANACOM new launches interactive service to answer citizen queries
ANACOM is making available a Virtual Assistant service at graphic, text or mobile version.
This is an informative and interactive service designed to answer queries put to it by citizens on a range of different topics, including roaming, portability and message-based valued added services.
Using the service is simple: just write the question in a text area and you will at once receive one or more answers, depending on the question asked. No specific technical terms need to be used when asking the question and users can write is if they were speaking directly to a call centre operator.
This service also enables ANACOM to monitor the questions raised by users and, where necessary, add new questions and answers to the base of content supporting the Virtual Assistant. This information is also available for consultation using the link "List of topics" on the Virtual Assistant’s main interface.
After its launch, it is estimated that the service will be able to give correct responses to between 80 to 85 percent of the queries put to it, whereas the remaining unanswered queries will provide ANACOM with a useful base which it can use to add more questions and answers.
Message-Based value Added Services: Message-based value added services are information society services provided by means of messages supported by electronic communications services. The use of these services requires the payment by the users, in immediate or deferred form, of a value which is additional to the price of the electronic communications service, as consideration for the provision of the transmitted content by the information, entertainment or other service.
Portability: Feature which means that subscribers to publically available telephone services can request to maintain their number, in respect of the same service, irrespective of the company offering the service, in the case of geographic numbers, at a determined location, and in the case of other numbers, through national territory (operator portability).
Roaming: International Roaming is a service that allows you to use your mobile phone abroad to make or receive voice calls, send or receive data (including SMS, MMS and Internet access) or gain access to other features associated with this type of service. The prices charged for communications in roaming are generally higher than the prices of communications within the national territory. This is because the foreign operator charges your home operator for the use of its network.
SMS - Short Message Service: Service of exchanging short messages, common in mobile communications networks. Allows the sending/receiving of text messages or small graphics.
