R&TTE Regulatory Framework
The R&TTE (Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment) regulatory framework was introduced in the European Union by
Directive 1999/5/EC of the European Parliament and Council, of March 9, 1999, on Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment and the mutual recognition of their conformity.
This Directive was transposed to portuguese legislation by Decree-Law no. 192/2000, of August 18http://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=17057, which establishes the regulatory framework for the placing on the market, free movement and putting into service in the national territory of radio and telecommunications terminal equipment, together with the conformity assessment and marking system.
