Multilateral cooperation

contentArea_6

In a multilateral context, ANACOM has supported and participated in initiatives that seek to promote a common culture and solidarity between Portuguese speaking countries, in particular within the CPLP, in which the Association of Regulators of Information and Telecommunications of the CPLP was set up in 2008. Until then and since 1990, the largest forum for meetings between the sectoral entities was the Association of Post and Telecommunication Operators from Countries and Territories of Official Portuguese Language (AICEP), which remains in existence.

In a more global perspective, there has been an intensification of relations with other international agencies (World Bank, InfoDev Programme, Commission on Science & Technology for Development (CCTD, subsidised body of ECOSOC) followed by a move towards new models of international cooperation, aimed at building partnerships and sharing information between the various donors, as well as the optimisation of resources.
