ECC - Electronic Communications Committee
The objectives of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) are: development, in a European context, of regulatory policies in terms of electronic communications; the establishment within Europe of a harmonized plan for the efficient use of the radio spectrum and numbering resources, in light of consumer and industry requirements; promote European cooperation in the preparation of ITU forums; encourage deregulation and liberalisation, and encourage the free circulation of radiocommunication equipment as a driver of more open and competitive markets.
As far as its structure is concerned, the ECC congregated the prior structures of the ERC (European Radiocommunications Committee) and ECTRA (European Committee for Telecommunications Regulatory Affairs).
