Band indication
The entity interested in licensing a ?local network? sends to ANACOM the duly filled-out forms titled
Modelo 045 ANACOM (*),
Modelo 045M ANACOM (Madeira) (*) and
Modelo 045A ANACOM (Azores) (*).
The following stand out among the various modules of this model:
Module 1 ? Applicant identification ? among others, contains two fields (N.I.F. and C.A.E.):
- N.I.F. ? Número de Identificação Fiscal (Fiscal Identification Number); the application should be accompanied by a photocopy of the respective card;
- C.A.E. Código da Actividade Económica (Economic Activity Code); applicable to entities listed in the National Registry of Corporations.
In module 2 ? Number of stations to install ? indication of the number category of mobile stations planned for the network is indispensable for future assignment of the appropriate channel; indication of the exact quantity is not necessary, just a check mark (X) in the respective space.
Module 3 ? Network Objective - should designate the specific purpose of the communications, which may not coincide with the applicant?s activity. For example, a passenger transport company may need a network for vigilance and security of its facilities; a banking entity may need a network to transport assets. This field is meant to provide information on the network user?s ?profile?, in order to harmonise sharing situations in the channels in which it is to be included.
Module 4 ? Network Structure ? is meant to provide a schematic representation of the network using the graphic symbols indicated in the form; the designation FML-fixed command station in the frequency corresponds to the station previously designated as ?stationary mobile?.
Module 5 - Localisation of stations with fixed characteristics ? used for FB (base station), FX (fixed station for command and single path link-interconnection in UHF) and FML (fixed frequency command station). In this phase, the designation of place only has to be enough to allow reference to same in the way it is generally known: Cabeço do Peão, Santarém, Nova Palmela, Monte da Virgem, Ponta Delgada, Camacha, etc. Information in greater detail will subsequently be included in the plan to be submitted by the interested party.
In module 6 ? Network service area ? the cells should be filled out to approximately correspond to the region/area in which the network operates (movement of mobile stations).
Module 7 ? Number of channels requested ? refers to emission channels for all network stations (base stations and mobile stations).
In module 9 ? Signature - in this phase recognition of the application?s signature is dispensable; it is only required later, in the application for network installation and use.
Once the application has been studied the applicant will be notified as soon as possible of the assigned band and the information to include in the plan.
This indication is valid for 90 days, after which ANACOM does not guarantee use of the indicated band.
Licensing
The form
Modelo 046 ANACOM (*) should be submitted within the time period set in the ANACOM notification (band indication), accompanied by the previously indicated plan information.
Module 2 of this form should indicate any changes that have meanwhile arisen. ANACOM may revise the parameters indicated in the ?Band Indication? notification due to the inclusion of such changes during this licensing phase.
After assessment and approval of the plan elements, ANACOM will issue the network licence, which will indicate the composition, structure, technical characteristics and operating conditions.
When simplex and semi-duplex channels are used simultaneously by the network?s stations, there may be a need to issue two separate licences.
The network may be used after the respective licence has been received by its title-holder.
Signature: legal recognition of the signature is indispensable if such has not been done in the form Modelo 045 ANACOM.
