The Information and Knowledge Society Observatory (OSIC) Internet site is now available, providing access to dedicated statistical information on the information society in Portugal. Amongst other areas, information on the digital economy, population/education, government and public administration, electronic democracy and telecommunications can be consulted.

The OSIC, led by Roberto Carneiro and integrated in UMIC - Agency for the Knowledge Society, was set up to monitor and interpret the development of the information society in Portugal, promoting research and publication of information in this area, as well as production of statistical indicators and specific studies.
