ANACOM, having received a number of queries on this matter, clarifies that, in accordance with the recommendation issued by this Authority through the determination of 25 July 2007, PT Comunicações (PTC) shall include, on 31 October 2007, the Naked DSL offer (NDSL - Wholesale naked digital subscriber line offer) in the ''PT ADSL Network'' wholesale offer.
ANACOM is pleased with this development, which could constitute an important contribution for giving impetus to the penetration of the broadband service and to competition, especially in the less populated regions and in respect of less favoured populations, so contributing to the reduction of total costs incurred by end users in broadband internet access.
This is a wholesale offer provided by PTC and other providers, which enables the offer of ADSL services to the final consumer, without the need to contract or maintain the fixed telephone service.
Taking into account the forecast calendar, the offer will be operational on 01 February 2008, from which date interested providers may, depending on their commercial strategy, provide retail offers based on NDSL.
Meanwhile, ANACOM will analyse the offer of PTC in order to evaluate its compliance with the positions expressed in the approved and published report on the public consultation and with the objectives of sector regulation.
