The European Commission (EC) has launched an online consultation on radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. The consultation, which closes on 25 April 2008, is based on a recommendation which the EC is developing in respect of this technology with the aim of defining a set of principles regarding privacy, data protection and security. The recommendation should be adopted before the summer.
