ERG 16 Plenary debriefing

A debriefing session on the European Regulators Group plenary, which was held on 8 February, is due to place in Brussels on 23 February. The main subject of the debriefing will be the cost of international roaming.

Those interested in participating, should register by email erg@cec.eu.int, giving their full name, date of birth and address. You will then receive a formal invitation - only holders of these invitations will be allowed to participate.

At the 16th plenary, The European Commissioner for Information Society and Media, announced plans to introduce new regulations in 2006 to control the prices being charged for international mobile roaming. These regulations could come into force during 2007.

A review of the regulatory framework was also announced at the plenary, while Roberto Viola, Secretary General of the Italian Regulator, was appointed ERG President for 2007.
