Title: State of Communications 2010
Summary:
This annual report provides an overview and analysis of the state of electronic and postal communications in Portugal. Looking at electronic communications, the report includes information on the telephone service at a fixed location, the mobile telephone service, the Internet access service (fixed and mobile) and subscription television. Separately, the report includes a section which focuses on the development of high-speed networks and another section on the penetration of bundles of services in Portugal.
The report also sets out statistical information compiled from providers, from consumer surveys, and also presents data from national and international institutions which give reference to the sector’s development in Portugal.

FTS - Telephone Service at a Fixed Location: In portuguese, Serviço Telefónico em Local Fixo (STF). Provision of direct voice transport to the general public in real time and at fixed locations, thereby allowing any user to communicate with another terminal point, through equipment connected to a terminal point in the network.
Mobile Service: Communications service between non determined points.
Subscription TV Service: All services of distribution or broadcast of the television signal which are not free-to-air, including services included in packages of services whose subscription/use implies payment.
