ANACOM has produced a "Guide for users with special needs: Find out about how the Internet and telephone can be adapted to special needs". This guide gives information on fixed telephone, mobile telephone and Internet services currently available in Portugal, especially adapted for users with special needs. The guide covers special visual, hearing, mobility and understanding needs, and also the special needs of elderly users.

ANACOM undertook this initiative in pursuit of a key part of its mission as Portugal’s communications regulator - to uphold the right of all users of products and services to complete and detailed information.

An audio version of the guide will soon be available, and printed and Braille versions will also be provided.
