EMERG Planning and Benchmark Conference - Amman

contentArea_6

The Jordanian capital Amman hosted last 18-19 January the planning and benchmark conference of the Euro-Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG). The gathering served to prepare documents to be submitted for approval at the next plenary meeting, specifically the reports on "Licensing and open access to markets" and "Retail price regulation of non-SMP operators", the "Benchmarking report 2011" and the 2012 action programme, identifying priority themes for workshops. Also considered was the issue of EMERG's reorganisation and financing from the European Commission. In this regard, proposals were submitted on the EMERG strategy document and on the group’s statutes, which should be examined at the plenary meeting.

The plenary meeting is scheduled for this coming 13-14 March in Cairo, Egypt.
