The subsidies available are as follows:

  • subsidy of 50 per cent of the purchase value of DTT set-top boxes (up to 22 euros) or DTH Kits (worth 15 euros, after the reimbursement of 47 euros referred to below), available to recipients of Rendimento Social de Inserção (income support), to retirees or pensioners having a monthly income below 500 euros or with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 60 percent;

  • subsidy of 61 euros for the adaptation of installations to receive the digital signal via terrestrial (DTT) or satellite (DTH), available to applicants aged 65 or over, retirees or pensioners having a monthly income below 500 euros and in situations of social isolation for structural or cyclical reasons (as indicated by Social Security).

The reimbursement of 47 euros on the purchase of each of the first two DTH kits in areas of digital satellite television (DTH) reception, remains available until August 2016 (to be reassessed in 2015). This reimbursement may be requested in one of the following ways:

a) purchase of each DTH Kit for full price (77 euros), with reimbursement of 47 euros received at a later date;

b) order of DTH Kit and, following acceptance of the application by PTC (after not more than 5 working days), collection of the equipment with payment of only 30 euros.

The application procedures for these subsidies are detailed on the DTT Websitehttp://tdt.telecom.pt/.
