ANACOM asks PT for price proposals for 2006

contentArea_6

ICP-ANACOM has already asked from PT Comunicações the presentation of an integrated price offer for RUO, the Reference Unbundling Offer, to be in force in 2006, with the new prices already in force on 1 January. The regulator's goal is to make the market more predictable, thereby giving all the operators the chance to know, right from the beginning of the year, which will be their working terms.

The utmost relevance of this information is given by the importance of the Reference Unbundling Offer, an essential tool for the promotion of competition in the local access market and, therefore, in the broadband market.

This procedure is aimed at guaranteeing more predictability and surety for every agent on the electronic communications market and also contributes to further induce the operators' investments.

PT Comunicações' proposal, to be issued within 20 days, should take into account the principle of cost-orientation of prices, as defined by the analysis of the unbundled wholesale market.
