European Regulators Group (ERG) - Gothenburg


The Swedish city of Gothenburg served as venue last 28-29 February for a meeting of the European Regulators Group (ERG), which was preceded on the 27th by a meeting of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) and the ERG, focusing on the theme topic of ?The Broadband Future: regulatory challenges in a converging environment?. Besides the European Commission?s Information Society Director General, Fabio Colasanti, the gathering was attended by ERG President Daniel Pataki, RSPG chair Marianne Treschow, Gerard Pogorel with a presentation on ?Broadband Wireless as an Alternative Infrastructure? and Martin Cave, who explained the subject of ?Spectrum Policy for the Many Possible Futures of Broadband in Europe?. Highlights of the ERG meeting include the approval of a new project teams? framework and adoption of the common position on ?Fixed/Mobile Termination Rate Symmetry?, as well as the respective report from the public consultations.
