22. What is the voice-Eurotariff?

The voice-Eurotariff is a roaming tariff applicable to voice calls (calls made and received). All operators in the countries of the European Economic Area1 (EEA) are required to make this tariff available to their customers. Prices per minute shall not exceed the following stipulated maximum limits:

The voice-Eurotariff does not apply to calls received in roaming where they originate from a country outside the EEA, even if the customer is in a country belonging to the EEA.

 
1 Includes the countries of the European Union (EU), Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. However, the regulation does not enter into force in these countries immediately. Until Regulation (EU) No. 531/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 13 June 2012, enters into force in Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, Regulation (EC) No. 544/2009 of the Parliament and the Council of 18 June 2009, as amending Regulation (EC) No. 717/2007, of 27 June 2007 on roaming on public mobile telephone networks within the Community, remains in force.
