ANACOM has published the 2009 electronic version of the Communications Sector in Portugal Yearbook (electronic communications and postal services).

In addition to giving a view of the sector's development and its representation in the Portuguese economy, between 2004 and 2008, the Yearbook looks at how the shares of the companies of the Portuguese sector performed between July 2008 and June 2009, and also gives information about the companies in operation on 31 July 2009.

By making this information on the sector available, ANACOM intends to provide the various market stakeholders with solid data enabling those investing in, managing and using electronic communications and postal services to make informed and up-to-date decisions.

Glossary
Electronic Communications Services: Service normally provided for remuneration which consists wholly or mainly in the conveyance of signals on electronic communications networks, including telecommunications services and transmission services in networks used for broadcasting, without prejudice to the exclusion referred to in point b) of paragraph 1 of article 2 (Law no. 5/2004 of 10 February).
Postal Service: Service consisting of the clearance, sorting, routing and delivery of postal items.
