• • Licensing system for UMTS/IMT2000 services
    The provisions of Decision no. 128/1999/CE of the European Parliament and the Council, of 14 December 1998, are related to the co-ordinated introduction of a third generation mobile and wireless system (UMTS) into the Community. So as to comply with said Decision, the Board of Directors of ICP approved, on 23 December 1999, the general procedure regarding the licensing of UMTS/IMT2000 services which shall be directed by the following principles:

  • Alterations to the Reference Interconnection Offer for 2000
    In accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 1 of Article 13 of Decree-Law 415/98, and without prejudice to the provisions of Paragraph 2 of the aforementioned Article, the following alterations should be integrated into the Reference Interconnection Offer for 2000 (RIO 2000), so as to provide compliance with the document `Set of items¿ to be included in the RIO 2000 and with the `Resolutions for increased compliance of the RIO 2000¿ offer with the `Set of items to be included in the RIO 2000¿.

  • ICP licenses Sonae
    The Instituto das Comunicações de Portugal granted two licenses to Sonae-Redes de Dados S.A. The first of these licenses attributed within the scope of the liberalization of the fixed telephone service, allows Sonae to offer this service as of the 1st of January 2000, under the terms of the decree-law nr. 381-A/97, dated the 30th of December. This license is attributed during a 15-year term, finishing on the 1st of January 2015.
