The 24th ANACOM seminar saw the presentation ''Spectrum management: recent developments and challenges'' 1 by Tommaso Valletti, Professor of Economics at Imperial College Business School, in London, and also at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". The seminar took place at Hotel Novotel Lisboa, in Lisbon, on 12 March 2010, at 3:00 pm.

Theme and objectives:
This seminar will cover recent advances in the way policy-makers and scholars think about spectrum issues. In particular it will discuss:
- the characteristics of spectrum;
- spectrum assignment vs spectrum allocation;
- evidence (welfare analysis) of spectrum allocation policies;
- spectrum trading and answers to possible problems (interference/standards/market power/spectrum hoarding);
- spectrum used by public bodies;
- digital dividend.
