NOTAS:

"Ovum has identified four key areas relating to the radio access market that will be the subject of important developments and much industry discussion in 2016. Those areas are increased emphasis on solutions and tools to help mobile operators ensure a good quality of experience; small cell services and strategies to accelerate deployments; continued evolution of LTE-A with such developments as LTE-LAA and higher orders of carrier aggregation; and 5G trials and standardization work. Despite huge technological change, the radio access market is having a difficult time. Equipment sales are slowing as LTE matures and network rollouts in many of the world’s major markets near completion. Meanwhile, operators are struggling to meet the demands of rapid data growth and the surge in video traffic, while contemplating the next major change to their networks in the form of 5G. The pressure to drive network quality, coverage, capacity, and speed is unrelenting, while more fundamental changes are in the pipeline driven by the adoption of new network architectures more akin to those of the IT world. For each of the four areas covered in this research, Ovum has identified several trends that will shape the market in 2016."
