NOTAS:

"Wireline broadband access equipment revenues in 2Q13 were level sequentially at $1.3bn but down 28% from the year-ago quarter. On a sequential basis, both PON and DSL equipment revenues showed increases (4% and 6% respectively) while CMTS sales fell 10%. Spending in all three segments was down from the year before: DSL by 39%, PON by 27%, and CMTS by 11%. As expected, GPON equipment revenues increased both sequentially and YoY while EPON revenues declined both sequentially and YoY. Both ADSL and VDSL equipment revenues increased sequentially but declined YoY. Among the top 10 vendors on a rolling 4-quarter basis, six showed small market share gains (under 1%): Arris, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Calix, Sumitomo, and Cisco. The other four vendors lost share, with very small declines for Adtran, Fujitsu, and Mitsubishi and a 1.2-point drop for ZTE. We expect wireline access equipment sales to continue eroding from year-earlier levels: although wireline access deployments are continuing around the world, no significantly large deployments will raise revenues to the levels seen in 2011 and 2012 during China's initial FTTx buildout."
