Communications services will need to be converged, offering voice, text, video, and pictures via a single platform. Demand will increase but revenues will decline. In order to survive, communications service providers (CSPs) will need to put in place efficient delivery mechanisms. This means almost all voice will move to IP to protect the bottom line and enable a richer user experience. Lastly, the OTT threat, which was predicted to be apocalyptic, will lessen as time goes on. The worst of the cannibalization has occurred and better converged communications services, together with partnerships, will enable the CSP of the future to deliver meaningful and cost-effective communications services in 2025." |
