Despite the steady decline, the fixed voice market is still substantial in 2019, even as broadband makes gains by consolidating its position among both telcos and cable companies as the anchor product within the fixed service bundle. Many broadband markets will be close to saturation and next-generation access initiatives will not necessarily translate into higher ARPU for broadband access alone. However, there are signs that the telecom industry, regulators, and OTT players are all moving towards more pragmatic relationships, which will enable service providers to monetize their fixed networks in other ways and lift service revenues." |
