"The European Commission has just published a study on the digital service infrastructures supported by the Connecting Europe Facility programme. The study gives an overview on the technical maturity of specific infrastructures to be deployed as of 2015. The study concluded that many of the digital service infrastructures considered for deployment have an intermediate or advanced level of technical maturity. In particular, it can be expected that in 2015 the digital service infrastructures Automated Translation, eHealth, eJustice, eProcurement and Online Dispute Resolution will be ready for deployment. In addition it is expected that Cyber Security will have established a governance structure. The Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information and Business Registers are expected to be ready for deployment one or two years later. The analysis of the study is used by the Commission in the preparation of the CEF Telecom Work Programmes.
The Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs) are supported by the Telecom part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme. The CEF programme earmarks 970 million euros over 7 years to support the deployment and operations of the DSIs, which deliver or will deliver networked cross-border services for citizens, businesses and public administrations. The objective of the study was to provide an independent expert assessment of the technical and governance maturity of some of the digital services that are listed in the Annex to the CEF Telecom Regulation and that can be included in future CEF Work Programmes. The study analyzed 9 of the 15 DSIs covered by the Regulation." |
