Both public-key and symmetric-key cryptographic algorithms that are widely used in mobile systems as of today would become vulnerable to quantum attacks. The mobile industry needs to transition to quantum-resistant cryptography to ensure the security and integrity of communications in mobile systems. PQC and QKD are fields of research that aims to develop new cryptographic algorithms that are secure against quantum attacks. There are few challenges such as performance, interoperability that need to be addressed in order to adopt those new algorithms for secure communication in future mobile systems" |
