NOTAS:

"Portugal has a substantial mobile penetration rate of more than 150% and an impressive fixed broadband network coverage (including NGA coverage) compared to other EU countries. The country, however, continues to rank significantly low in broadband uptake rates over both fixed and mobile networks. While the fixed broadband take-up rate is as low as 61%, the mobile broadband penetration is at 41%, with 3G services continuing to dominate the mobile broadband market over LTE. The low take-up rate is, to certain extent, attributable to the low digital skills of the population and high broadband rates.

The regulator, ANACOM, has completed the third market review of most of the regulated markets. Considering the growing prominence of wireless services and increased consumption of data, ANACOM should layout a roadmap for the allocation of the 700MHz band that can timely accommodate the launch of 5G and IoT/M2M services in the country.."
