"This article provides information on the issues concerning merger remedies in the European Union. It has recently been observed that the merger task force of the European Commission (EC) has been adopting a tougher stance in merger control. In addition, the EC Notice on merger remedies would be further proof of its stricter approach. Furthermore, it has been argued by the author that the study might still not be enough to restore competition in industries where mergers take place. On the other hand, the need to consider unilateral effects as well as procollusive effects call to the attention observations on structural merger remedies."
