NOTAS:

"We estimate that in 2016 the European wholesale market was worth €41.0bn ($45.4bn), based on analysis of the reported results of 33 companies that together represent about 78% of total wholesale sales. The size of the market was 3.1% less than the 2015 total of €42.3bn ($46.9bn) based on the same sample of companies. Most players in the market were affected by the continuing commoditization of traditional voice transport services. However, most managed to increase their non-voice service revenues sufficiently to mitigate the falls in wholesale voice and mobile wholesale service revenues. It is important to note that the decline in several other currencies compared with the euro (particularly the UK pound and the Russian ruble) significantly impacted the revenues of several players between 2015 and 2016. This report uses euros throughout, with key figures converted to US dollars at the average annual rate for the relevant year. The accompanying report European Wholesale Market Share 2015–16: The Detail presents our analysis of the relative health of voice, non-voice, and mobile wholesale markets within Europe."
