Building on this decades-long academic and professional experience, The Law of Outer Space Activities provides an up-to-date treatise through a multi-faceted perspective and with special regard to State practice. The text deals with the main chapters of this legal discipline from the sources of space law, including the UN space treaties and non-legally binding instruments, to the issues of responsibility and liability of States for national space activities carried out by public agencies and private actors, as well as registration of space objects. It also gives an overview on the main institutions dealing with space-related matters, as UN, ITU, ESA and EU. Furthermore, it addresses latest developments on outstanding issues, such as planetary defense, exploitation of space natural resources, and safety, sustainability and security of outer space activities.
