| NOTAS: | "Ovum's annual analysis of the European wholesale market shows that, after a 6% decline the year before, wholesale revenues of the leading players were virtually unchanged between 2012 and 2013. This is attributable to the combination of a recovering economic environment in Europe and continuing intense competition and regulatory actions in the region. Falling wholesale voice revenues shrank the fixed voice and mobile wholesale sectors of the market, but fixed non-voice revenues grew. For the fourth year in a row the leading players’ European wholesale revenues fell less than their European retail revenues, reflecting the increasing importance of wholesale in enabling complex retail services. Although a wide variety of players offer wholesale services in Europe, our analysis shows that the same five national incumbents continue to dominate the market." |
