Relations with Latin American countries (with the exception of Brazil) are conducted within the scope of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (UPAEP), and also the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulators (Regulatel), in which Portugal has participated as an observer, since 2005.
In addition to this framework of multilateral relations, efforts have been made to develop closer bilateral ties with these countries, with ANACOM receiving delegations from Ecuador and Venezuela in 2008.
