The use of amateur stations on board aircrafts and on board vessels is only possible with the express authorization of the competent authorities in accordance with the provisions of point d), of paragraph 1, of Article 12, of Decree-Law no. 53/2009, of 2 of March.
In order to regulate the use of amateur stations on board vessels, the DGRM - Direção-Geral de Recursos Naturais, Segurança e Serviços Marítimos (Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services), authority having jurisdiction in the matter, published Information Circular No. 9 Rev. 1, under the heading "Use of the amateur stations and amateur satellite services on national board vessels".
