National Numbering Plan

The National Numbering Plan (NNP)1 defines the format and structure of numbering resources and is a key regulatory tool, whose management falls to ANACOM, in accordance with the provisions of the Electronic Communications Lawhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=975162 and ANACOM Statuteshttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1351851.

Under the powers vested in it at NNP level, ANACOM makes available in this area a dynamic search tool covering numbering resources included and organised into different numbering plans, namely those defined in the scope of international standards and recommendations.

Searches are available for the following plans:

  • Telecommunications numbering plan (ITU-T E.164).
  • Point identification plan for ITU-T national signalling network No 7 (ITU-T Q.704/Q.705).
  • Public data network identification plan (ITU-T X.121).
  • International telecommunications card issuer identification plan (ITU-T E.118).
  • TETRA mobile network identification plan (ETSI ETS 300392-1).
  • Public network and subscription identification plan (ITU-T E.212).
  • Routing prefix plan for ported numbers (ITU-T Q.769.1).
  • Point identification plan for ITU-T international signalling network No. 7 (ITU-T Q.708).

A search tool is available for NNP numbering resources, as well as for companies holding rights of use for numbers, geographic areas and numbering plans from other countries:
