From 6 January 2002, ICP - Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ICP-ANACOM) was the name given to Instituto das Comunicações de Portugal (ICP), following the entry into force of its previous statutes (Decree-Law no. 309/2001, of 7 Decemberhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=974442).
While ANACOM retained the legal personality of ICP, it was relieved of its previous legal status of public institution and made a legal person governed by public law, with administrative and financial independence and its own assets.
