The regime governing the radio licensing of radiocommunications stations (or networks comprising radiocommunications stations) and oversight of their installation is governed by Decree-Law no. 151-A/2000 of 20 July, as amended by Decree-Law no. 264/2009 of 28 September.
Radio stations, i.e. base stations, are registered in ANACOM's database and form an integral part of the (network or station) radio licence granted to the respective operator.
ANACOM undertakes the assignment of frequencies necessary for the operation and use of radiocommunications networks and allocates licensing for their use.
