Monitoring and inspection of the radio spectrum

/ Updated on 11.10.2019

As part of its remit for managing the spectrum, ANACOM provides a permanent spectrum monitoring and control service, in order to ensure that radiocommunications networks and stations operate without harmful interferences.

Inspection is carried out in order to ensure that radiocommunications networks and stations are used in accordance with the current legislation and with the granted licences.

Therefore, apart from the monitoring of the spectrum, the technical teams with inspection duties will carry out visits to radiocommunications stations, ensuring that they are being used in accordance with current legislation and are free of interference.

Users should provide access to their station as is their obligation under the statutes of ANACOM and as set out by Decree-Law no. 151-A/2000https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=976037, of 20 July, in its current wording.

Failure to comply with the legal rules in force and, in particular, with the provisions of Decree-Law constitutes an offence punishable with a fine.

The use of stations that do not operate in accordance with the legislation in force is not permitted under any circumstance, and stations in contravention shall be subject to provisional seizure, in whole or in part.

In the event of interference users should immediately contact the spectrum monitoring and control centrehttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=245262.
