Under the terms of Order no. 16229/2005, of 26 July (2nd series), the Minister for Public Works, Transport and Communications, Mário Lino Soares Correia, conferred powers to the Deputy Secretary of State for Public Works and Communications over several services, organizations and entities, among which ANACOM.
These conferred powers regard, among others:
- the approval of the privative budgets and of the budget changes of the services, organizations and entities mentioned in no. 1.1 of Order no. 16229/2005, of 26 July;
- the authorization for expenditures that exceed the powers of managers of those services, organizations and entities, regardless of their nature; and
- the follow-up of, and the orientation on the implementation of the budgets of those services, organizations and entities.
The Deputy Secretary of State for Public Works and Communication was also conferred the power to monitor the powers regarding issues related with UMIC Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento, I. P. (Agency for the Knowledge Society), together with the member of Government responsible for the related area.
