The new website of the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações (FPC) - Portuguese Foundation for Communications - is already available, at www.fpc.pt.
In the scope of the celebrations of the World Telecommunication Day, commemorated yesterday, 17 May, and based on a thorough change as far as image and also functional architecture are concerned, the FPC website now makes available new contents.
In the area regarding the Communications Museum, information may already be consulted as to permanent and temporary expositions in course, the museological heritage and educative service developed within the Museum, namely pedagogical workshops. The telecommunications circuit of the new permanent exposition at FPC, under the theme “Overcoming distances - the course of communications in Portugal”, which includes a space organized by ANACOM, illustrating the current reality of the communications sector in Portugal, as well as of the thematic exposition “150 years of electric telegraphy in Portugal” were inaugurated yesterday, in the scope of the mentioned celebrations.
Today, 18 May 2005, the Communications Museum shall be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., free admission, celebrating the International Museum Day.
In a second stage, other functionalities of the FPC website shall be developed, concerning the text version and the access thereto, as well as new areas, such as the online shop, where you may be acquainted with and buy online the main products made available by the Foundation.
Established in October 1997, the FPC has ANACOM, the CTT - Correios de Portugal and Portugal Telecom as founding members.
