The website of the Euro-Mediterranean network of Regulators (EMERG), www.emergonline.org, has now been launched and is available online. Officially set up on 1 July 2008, this network brings together representatives from regulators of the electronic communications sector from around the Mediterranean region, including representatives from ANACOM. The network was set up, not only to share experience, but also to achieve the consolidation and harmonisation of the principles of regulation.
Additionally, Euro-Mediterranean cooperation enables the identification of similar challenges and opportunities which, through a common approach, might drive competition and stability in the electronic communication markets, the development of new technologies and the narrowing of the digital divide.
