OECD Ministerial meeting on ''Future of the Internet Economy''


The Ministerial meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the “Future of the Internet Economy” is to take place on 17 and 18 June in Seoul, Korea.

Ministers from over 40 countries will hold discussions with global economic leaders, experts and academics on ways to improve co-ordination and co-operation at a global level, analysing the social, economic and technical trends of the Internet economy and suitable policies that meet the needs of society.

The agenda is structured around three key issues: “Promoting Creativity”, “Building Confidence” and “Benefiting from Convergence”.

The programme features a number of speakers, including: Kevin Martin, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Information Society and Media and Hamadoun Touré, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
