ANACOM has released the reports of the evaluations, conducted by this Authority, on the quality of voice (GSM) and video-telephony (UMTS) mobile services and network coverage (GSM and WCDMA), as provided by the operators Sonaecom (Optimus), TMN and Vodafone Portugal:
- on the Alfa Pendular (High-speed) service of CP (Portugal Railways) (Braga-Porto-Lisbon-Faro lines), and
- on Lisbon’s urban railway network (Azambuja, Cascais, Fertagus, Sado and Sintra lines);
- coverage in the main urban centres and along the main roads of the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira.
The evaluation was conducted based on the analysis (between April and July 2009) of technical parameters which give a view of quality from the consumer’s perspective: Specifically six indicators were assessed: network coverage, service accessibility, time taken to establish calls, call termination rates, call audio quality and video call quality.
