The opinion of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG) and the European Regulators Group (ERG) on the proposed Recommendation of the European Commission on relevant markets has been published. This opinion covers the following issues: flexibility, criteria testing, horizontal issues, comments on specific markets and transition issues.
Among other things, the IRG and ERG is calling on the EC give attention to the need for flexibility required by certain national regulatory authorities (NRAs), given that disparities remain in terms of competition between the various Member States of the European Union (EU).
A presentation has also been available, which was made on 20 November 2007 in Brussels by the next IRG/ERG chairman, Daniel Pataki, on the 2008 work programme. This presentation addresses, in particular, the challenges that are foreseen, the main points and structure of the work programme and the meetings planned for the coming year.
