WRC-07 - World Radiocommunications Conference 2007


The 2007 World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-07) came to a close on 16 November 2007 after four weeks of intensive work searching for harmonised solutions that will facilitate the future development of wireless communications around the world.

WRC-07 was attended by 164 Member States of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and 104 Observers, and the WRC-07's agenda encompassed 30 themes, covering practically all the services and applications of terrestrial and satellite Radiocommunications.

Of particular note are the points related to the future of mobile communications, aeronautical telemetry and remote control systems, services in HF bands and maritime mobile systems and the identification of options for improving the spectrum's international regulatory framework.

The Final Acts of WRC-07 will enter into force on 1 January 2009.
