Questionnaire on international roaming

The European Regulators Group (ERG) released the data model specification document for consultation on 22 August 2007. This document, which is designed to be filled in periodically by operators and providers of roaming services, was drawn up by the ERG in close liaison with the different national regulatory authorities (NRAs) as a means of compiling the information needed by the NRAs for the exercise of the supervision and monitoring powers which are conferred upon them by article 7 of Regulation (EC) no. 707/2007 of 27 June with regard to roaming on public mobile telephone networks. The questionnaire also includes items which may be reported by the NRA to the Commission in order provide assessment of the various aspects under consideration in respect of the review provided for in article 11 of the Regulation.

Following an analysis of the responses received under the scope of this consultation, the plenary meeting of the IRG/ERG, held in Athens on 11 and 12 October 2007, gave approval to the final version of the data model specification which the operators have to send to the NRAs, as well as the Explanatory Memorandum which sets out the position of the ERG in respect of the issues that were most raised by the respondents to the consultation.

The items contained in the model specification should be sent to ANACOM by 23 November. The information concerned should be sent by email to dee.stats@anacom.pt.
