Radiocommunication stations - new draft Regulation under public consultation

On 5 March 2008, ANACOM approved a draft Regulation laying down rules on the identification and signalling of radiocommunication stations, taking into account comments received in the scope of the regulatory procedure provided for in the Statutes of the Authority, launched on 18 July 2003.

This draft Regulation is now subject to a new consultation procedure. Observations should be submitted within 30 days, that is, by 29 April 2008, in writing, either in paper version to ANACOM or electronically to Regsi@anacom.pt. Comments expressly marked as confidential by respondents will not be included in the publication of results.

Opinions on the part of interested parties are required once more on account of the excessively long and uncommon period of time which has elapsed between the first consultation, in 2003, and the conclusion of the respective procedure, which only now occurs, and consequently positions conveyed may eventually be now out of date.

A summary of comments received in the scope of the 2003 consultation, as well as grounds for options taken by ANACOM in the new draft Regulation are also comprised in the report of the referred consultation, which has also been approved.

ANACOM has taken the initiative to publish today a notice disclosing the approval of this draft Regulation in several national and regional daily papers: Diário de Notícias, Público, Jornal de Notícias, Correio da Manhã, Açoriano Oriental and Diário de Notícias da Madeira.
