ANACOM has granted Vodafone Portugal authorisation to carry out technical trials with UMTS900 technology in the GSM extension band and for a trial period of 3 months from July to September 2007.
The authorisation is granted strictly for carrying out technical trials and the frequencies may not be used for commercial exploitation or for any other service. The trials shall cease immediately in the event that they cause interference with other operating radiocommunications services.
The granting of this authorization does not imply any commitment, obligation or constraint regarding the future use of UMTS900 type systems in Portugal, it does imply any obligation on ANACOM’s part nor does it in any way imply any right, expectation, or protected interest on the part of Vodafone Portugal.
